OBITUARY

Mr. Ira Buchanan, Jr. was born to Ira Buchanan, Sr. and Doris(Mingo) Buchanan on June 7, 1938 in Lexington, MS. He was a brother to one sister and four brothers.

Ike, as he was called, was outgoing and a giving person. He attended Mileston Vocational High School in Tchula, MS. Ike accepted Christ at an early age at Marcella Baptist Church.

In the early 60's he moved to Los Angeles, CA; where he was united in holy matrimony to Olivia O'Dell. In that union they gave birth to three children; Artesa, Errol and Adriane.

Returning to Mississippi to care for her parents, he united in holy matrimony to Darlene Tiggs.

Later on in life, he united in holy matrimony to Edith Friend. In that union they gave birth to two children; Deonerick and Antegra.

Ike was a hard working man that always kept jobs; worked at the railroad, built bridges, construction worker, drove trucks, and was a machine operator. His hobbies included traveling and he loved the ladies.

When he reaches the pearly gates, Ira will be greeted in heaven by his parents; Ike Buchanan, Sr. and Doris Buchanan; his sister Albertine Winkfield; three brothers; Robert W. Buchanan, Cleophas Buchanan and Edgar Buchanan.; two nephews; Robert Earl Buchanan and Leroy Buchanan; one son; Deonerick Friend(Lil Dee).

He leaves precious memories with those on this side of eternity, one son Errol Buchanan; three daughters; Artesa Harris, Adriane Buchanan and Antegra Buchanan-Jones; grandsons; Kenneth Burrell Jr. and David Harris, Jr.; granddaughters; Jasmin Buchanan, Raven Burrell, Delores Harris, Jade Davis, Ebony Davis, Za'Kerria Buchanan, Za'Niya Buchanan and Za'Kyla Buchanan; great-grandson; M'ahlik Burrell; great granddaughters; Kenniya Burrell and Kelilah Burrell; son-in-law;Lawrence Jones; daughter-in-law-;Cheryl Buchanan;one brother Zoe Bray Buchanan; two sister-in-laws; Jeenie Buchanan and Mary Corine-Buchanan; adopted brother Casse Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
