OBITUARY:
Lula Pearl Benford was born on February 20, 1940 to Leather B. Smith and William Benford of Howard Bottom. To the family she was known as "Duley".
Lula confessed her life Christ at an early age at Mount Zion M.B. Church in Howard Bottom, under the leadership of Rev. J.B. Brown. She served as a choir member faithfully and began a lifetime of Christian services.
Lula attended Microform School in Lexington, Mississippi.
Lula was a wonderful homemaker, who did what it took to provide for her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend.
Lula Pearl enjoyed singing and traveling to different churches and meeting diferent people. She was pleasing, encouraging and truly a woman of God.
After living a beautiful and productive life, Lula Pearl Benford transitioned to her eternal home, Monday, May 25, 2020 in the Long Term Care Center in Durant, Mississippi.
Lula's memories will be forever cherised by Special loved ones(Sammy Lee). Her lovely sister. Essie Blue; two daughters, Annie and Mary Benford; one son, Willie Benford; sixteen grandchildren, Ladrick, Terranc, Jennifer, Marcus, Ronnie, Allen, Cordell, Tyneshei Benford, Anderson Cooper, Anderson Dent, Tiffany Robinson, Sameturia Hibbler, Melechezedek Grayer, Wother Miller, and Jame Benford. Eighteen great grandchildren, a host of nieces, great nieces, nephew, great nephew, other family and friends.
Aunt Duley, I met you when attending Ma Letha's my grandmother's Nell's mother. You welcomed us with opened arms, showed us a good time, and made us laugh the entire time. I just found out about your going on from cousin Wardell. May God Bless your transition for you and your loved ones. Child of a Creek Nation Native!
