Willie Mae Hewitt-Garner ascended to the heavens above Earth at her home on Tuesday, February 23, 2021.

She was born July 21, 1927 to Joe Hewitt Sr. and Sylvia Middleton-Hewitt in Yazoo County, MS and began a joy filled long life.

She confessed Christ at an early age. As a teenager, she moved to Jackson, MS and was united in holy matrimony to the late Joseph Garner for 48 years. Wille Mae was employed with the Jackson Public School District at Blackburn MIddle School graciously serving from 1966 to 1989.

She joined Grace Bible Baptist where she faithfully attended Sunday School and cheerfully contributed to the local and national missions. Sister Garner was renowned for her generosity, nurturing sweet spirit, love of Blackburn/children.

She leaves to cherishher memories her baby brother, George Wilson of Canton, MS; dear sister-friend, Betty Nelson, God-son, Zanari Chambers, and her loving and caring great niece Vickie Hicks all of Jackson, MS. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law Birdie Hewitt, Reserve, LA and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
