PUBLIC VISITATION for Deacon Simmons was Friday, February 6, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at Lavender’s Funeral Service

THE HOME GOING CELEBRATION HONORING THE LIFE & LEGACY of Deacon Joe “J.D.” Simmons, of Aliceville, Alabama was Saturday, February 7, 2026, 11:00 a.m. at Dancy First Baptist Church, 797 Highway 17 in Aliceville, Alabama. The body of Deacon Simmons was in state in the church one hour prior to the service.

INTERMENT immediately followed the service in Magnolia Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 9654 Highway 14, also in Aliceville. Reverend Robert W. Jackson, Jr., Pastor of Dancy First Baptist Church was The Eulogist.
