It was with deepest sorrow that Lavender's Funeral Service announced the passing of MR. HOMER LEE HUGHES, 67 of Aliceville, Alabama on Friday, August 18, 2023 at Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

THERE WAS NO PUBLIC VISITATION FOR MR. HOMER LEE HUGHES AT LAVENDER'S FUNERAL SERVICE.
THE HOME GOING CELEBRATION HONORING THE LIFE & LEGACY of Mr. Homer Lee Hughes of Aliceville, Alabama was Wednesday, August 23, 2023, 12:00 Noon at Emory Chapel C.M.E. Church, 7079 County Road 13 in Aliceville, Alabama. The body of Mr. Hughes was in state in the church 2 hours prior to the service.
INTERMENT followed the funeral service at Bethany Town Cemetery, 2288 Old Bethany Road, also in Aliceville. Reverend Danny McKinstry is The Pastor of Emory Chapel C.M.E. Church. Reverend Randy Hughes, Ministirial Staff Member of Bethel A.M.E. Church in Norwalk, CT and brother of Mr. Homer Lee Hughes was The Eulogist.

Our sincere condolences to our family during this difficult time, when mommy was sick and in the hospital he would call everyday checking on "Libby" that's what he called her. He never met a stranger, always smiling. Homer you will be missed.
