It was with deepest sorrow that Lavenderโs Funeral Service announced the passing of Phenomenal Role Model and Superior Educator, MRS. MATTYE B. "Mama Matt" WILLIAMS, 86 of Aliceville, Alabama on Friday, June 11, 2021 at her residence.

THE HOME GOING CELEBRATION HONORING THE LIFE & LEGACY of Mrs. Mattye B. Williams, 86 of Aliceille, Alabama was Wednesday, June 16, 2021, 12:00 Noon at Pine Grove Baptist Church, 9004 Highway 86, Carrollton, Alabama.
The body of Mrs. Mattye B. Williams DID NOT LIE IN STATE IN THE CHURCH PRIOR TO THE SERVICE.
INTERMENT was in Pine Grove Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 91 Big Creek Road, also in Carrollton, Alabama. Reverend Tonnie Jones, Pastor of Pine Grove Baptist Church was The Eulogist.
*FOR THE HEALTH & SAFETY OF EVERYONE, MASK WEARING WAS REQUIRED & SOCIAL DISTANCING WAS OBSERVED. SEATING WAS LIMITED for this Funeral Service & Interment.

Condolences to the Williams family. She was one of my Elementary school teachers. I share the same name so it was weird calling her Mrs Mattie Williams when I was a mini Mattie Williams. She was family too. Family weep now but remember Joy comes when you remember that she has gone on to join Jesus in Heaven. A Great Reward for a Life well lived.
