There those whom you meet at some point in your life who never leave you no matter the distance. Yvonne was one of those people. She was a true confidant during our times together. Yvonne Roland was my last supervisor in the U.S. Air Force before my retirement in 1994. She and I kept in close contact throughout the decades and, in addition to being professional colleagues, I considered her to be among my dearest friends. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones during this most difficult time and please take comfort in the knowledge that God has brought one of His Angels home to rest.

And although it has been many years since I saw or spoke to Yvonne, I am certain that she remained the same sweet and genuine person that she was in high school. Please know that you are in my prayers.

To the Roland family: I know this must be a very difficult time for you all. It pains my heart to know that you have lost a loved one to death and there is nothing anyone can do to bring that loved one back. Yet, our heavenly Father, 'the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort' (2 Corinthians 1:3,4) offers you assurance at John 5;28,29: 'the hour is coming when all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.' God promises the Roland family that there will be a resurrection and you will see your loved one again.
