Elaine Coleman was an admirable, joyful person who never complained, even as she faced several chronic health-care challenges. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, on Monday, May 10, 1954, the fourth of five children born to Curtis Othello and Maggie Mae Coleman.

On Sunday, September 13, 2026, she was received into the embrace of Our Lord, completing her earthly journey in the comfort and care of Hospice Austin’s Christopher House in Austin, Texas, with her beloved younger sister, Brenda by her side.
