Christine Carroll Deener

Christine Carroll Deener, born on December 19, 1949, in Somerville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2026. She was a devoted spouse to Melvin Henry Deener and a cherished mother to her two children, Rebecca N. Deener and Christopher Deener.
Christine was deeply committed to her career, having served as a former employee of Arlington Developmental Center in the Staff Developmental Department. Her dedication to her work and those she served was a reflection of her character and commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.
She held an Associate of Arts Degree and was an esteemed member of the Tennessee Employee Association. Christine was also recognized for her long-standing involvement in her faith community, serving in the youth ministry at St. Paul M.B. Church. Her commitment to her church made her a lifelong member who positively impacted the lives of many within her congregation.
Her legacy is enriched by her bond with her siblings: eight sisters—Charlene Braswell, Easter (Henry) Tines, Ruthie (Larry) Eason, Dorothy (Wayne) Randolph, Mary (Henry) Williams, Peggy Mabone, and Shallt Carroll—and two brothers, James Leon Carroll and James Levone (Mavis) Carroll. Together, they forged a close-knit family that provided love and support.
Christine is predeceased by her beloved parents, James Leon and Mary Elizabeth Thompson-Carroll.
A Funeral Service to honor Christine’s life will be held on February 14, 2026, at 1:00 PM, at St. Paul Church Cemetery located at 4695 TN-76 South, Moscow, TN 38057 Sylvester Twillie, Pastor. Interment Church Cemetery.
