Albert Jackson was born in Aiken, SC to Moses H. Jackon, Sr. and the late Celestine “Tine” McKevie.
At the age of 7, Albert relocated to Harrisburg, PA; to reside with his father and stepmother, Gloria A. Jackson.
He received his formal education in the Susquehanna Township School System and was a 1974 graduate of Susquehanna Township High School, where he was a member of the Football and Track Teams.
When in his presence you were guaranteed an “animated performance” of some sort, something said so funny that he would have you doubled over in tears…not matter the occasion. “Chookie” as he was affectionately called by his stepmother, was a smooth dresser in his all white like Frankie Beverly, a natural born jokester, loved to dance and to just have a good time!!
Having accepted the Lord as his personal savior at an early age, Albert was a former member of the First Spirit-Filled Missionary Baptist Church, where he sang on the choir and was a member of the Edgemont Drill Team.
In 1975 he enlisted in the United States Army where he served until 1978, receiving an Honorable Discharge at the grade (E-3) of Private First Class (PFC). He went on to work for IBM until 2000, when he joined the maintenance team and eventually front desk attendant at Homeland Center. After 18 years of service to Homeland Center, he retired and began his career of becoming a fulltime couch potato, watching tv or out riding his bike until his health began to fail.
Albert was preceded in death by his mother, Celestine “Tine” McKevie; 3 brothers, John McKevie, Jeffrey McKevie and Reggie Hamilton; stepmother, Gloria A. Jackson and 1 sister, Lawanda A. Jackson.
He leaves to cherish precious memories of him, his father, Moses H. Jackson, Sr.; two sons, Albert Derrick Dykes-Jackson and Anthony Albert Wilkinson-Jackson; 6 grandchildren, all of Harrisburg, PA; two sisters, Sheila Walker and Sharon (Randy) Saunders; three brothers, Jeffrey (Letitia) Garnes, Anthony (Antonette) Jackson, all of Harrisburg, PA and Moses (Hilda) Jackson, Jr. of Toms River NJ; six sisters, Laverne, Vondia and Lakeisha McKevie; Mechelle, Wanda and Wendy Hamilton; four brothers, Troy McKevie, Gerald (Chartese), Mark and Rodney Hamilton, all of Aiken, South Carolina; his cat, he called “Cat-Dog”; his best friend, Michael “CRIP” Thomas; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, October 10, 2025 in the Sanctuary of First Spirit Filled Baptist Church, 2609 Locust Lane Harrisburg, PA 17109.
