Obituary For Alvis Farq-Jenkins
In Loving Memory of Alvis Hamid Farq (Devon Jenkins)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brother Al, who departed this life on 04/20/2026 at the age of 62.
Alvis was born in Bad Kreuznach, Germany to Robert Lee Jenkins, Sr. and the late Carolyn Jenkins. He was a loving father, devoted family man and cherished friend whose presence brought strength, wisdom and love to those around him.
He was known for his sarcasm, natural remedies and touched many lives through his unique personality. He also was a jack of all trades. He enjoyed fixing things in his own ways, cooking, watching football and basketball games and especially spending time with his family.
He was also a brother to Robert Lee Jenkins, Jr. (Loni) and Jennifer Jenkins. Alvis leaves to cherish memories of him, his children, Cyrus McBride, Tariq Waters, Se’maj McGraw, LaShawn Jenkins, Bri’Ajanae Farq, Quynea Farq, Khyen Simpson, Janiayah Farq and Albany Simpson; his grandchildren, Milan Pagan, Zay’lani Jenkins, Marlei Smith and Zaaki Jenkins; his only niece, Jasmine Jenkins. Holding a special place in his heart, Kiana Simpson and a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Jenkins.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 in The Chapel of the Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton with viewing and visitation from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are invited to attend and honor his life.
Though he is no longer with us in body, his love, lessons and legacy will remain in our hearts forever.
