Obituary For Asayah Beatty

ASAYAH MAURICE BEATTY, son of Michael Beatty and Jennifer Hofmann, was born in Jacksonville, North Carolina.

Throughout his life, Asayah and his mother lived in numerous states, including New York, California, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania. Despite the many moves, Asayah adapted with grace and ease, always finding a way to make friends wherever he went.

Asayah graduated from John Harris High School, where he left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He was a shy kid at first, but once you got to know him, he was often the loudest person in the room, with a laugh and smile that could brighten anyone's day. His infectious personality made it easy for him to connect with others, and his genuine spirit drew people in.

In high school, Asayah also discovered a passion for wrestling. He joined the John Harris wrestling team and quickly picked up the sport. Wrestling became a great outlet for him, teaching him valuable lessons about dealing with failure and the joy that hard work and practice could bring. It was through wrestling that Asayah learned resilience and the satisfaction that comes from pushing oneself to the limit.

One of Asayah's greatest passions was anything to do with cars. He loved attending car meets whenever he could, and his enthusiasm for automobiles was something he shared with his uncle, Julian Hofmann. For his 16th birthday, Asayah was gifted a BMW—a moment that brought him immense joy. That car became his project, and over the next four years, he poured his heart into tinkering and fixing it up, determined to keep it forever. It was a reflection of his dedication, his love for the craft, and his desire to march to the beat of his own drum.

As we remember Asayah, it's important to recall the joy and laughter he brought into our lives. When Asayah was about 6 or 7 years old, his grandfather took him along for a round of golf with friends. After getting away from the clubhouse, his grandfather decided it was time for Asayah to learn how to drive a golf cart. From one ball location to another, Asayah took the wheel, navigating with enthusiasm. At one point, while the group was on the green, his grandfather asked Asayah to park the cart under a shade tree because of the heat. However, when their backs were turned, Asayah took the opportunity to do donuts with the golf cart in the middle of the fairway, just before the green. Needless to say, his grandfather made sure to take the key out whenever he left the cart from then on. This story is a perfect reflection of Asayah's playful spirit and love for adventure.

Asayah Maurice Beatty, at the age of 20 years, entered into eternal life on Saturday, August 24, 2024 in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania.

He is survived by his loving mother, Jennifer Hofmann; his father, Michael Beatty; his uncle, Julian Hofmann; his grandmother, Corinna Shively; his grandfather, Donald Shively and his stepfather, Jonathon Luff, Jr. He also leaves behind a multitude of friends and a village of support, all of whom have been touched by his life. Asayah will always be remembered for his vibrant personality, his ability to light up a room, and his unwavering passion for the things he loved. He leaves behind a family that loves and adores him and his memory will forever remain in our hearts.

Rest in peace, Asayah. Your spirit will continue to inspire us all.

His life will be celebrated at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 in the Sanctuary of Living Water Community Church, 206 Oakleigh Avenue, Harrisburg, PA.
