Obituary For Brian Turner, Sr.

Brian Keith Turner, Sr., affectionately known as "Dad," "Cero," "Speed bump," “BT Express,” “Mr. B,” “PopPop,” and “Uncle B,” departed this life peacefully on September 7, 2026, at Osteopathic Hospital in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He was 61 years old.

Born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Brian was the son of the late Sylvia Turner and the late Robert Turner. He was a proud graduate of Harrisburg High School, Class of 1983. During his high school years, he earned the nickname “BT Express,” a name that stayed with him throughout his life and reflected the energy, humor, and unforgettable personality he brought wherever he went.

Brian was a hardworking man who held many positions throughout his life, including office work, warehouse jobs, banquet service, and grocery store employment. He eventually returned to office work and retired from United Concordia. No matter where he worked, Brian had a natural gift for customer service and connecting with people. His warm spirit, quick wit, and ability to make everyone feel welcome left a lasting impression on coworkers, customers, and friends alike.

Above all, Brian cherished his family and found great joy in creating memories with those he loved. He especially loved showing up for his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews at their extracurricular activities, whether sporting events, dances, graduations, or other special occasions. He was their number one fan, always proud to cheer them on and celebrate their accomplishments. At family birthday parties, Brian led the five birthday songs with enthusiasm. Each Christmas Eve, he brought smiles and laughter by dressing up as Santa. Through these traditions and countless other moments, he filled family gatherings with warmth, laughter, and love.

Brian had a special way of making people laugh, feel included, and remember him long after he left the room. His humor was one of his greatest gifts, but so was his devotion. As a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, he gave of himself generously and made the people around him feel valued. His presence brought comfort, joy, and a sense of togetherness to all who knew him.

Brian grew up surrounded by family and faith. As a child, he attended Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church with his mother and remained connected to his faith throughout his life, attending church for special occasions as an adult. His faith, family values, and love for his community were woven into the life he lived and the legacy he leaves behind.

Brian Keith Turner, Sr. leaves to cherish precious memories of him, his loving wife, Carmencita Turner; his children, Brittany Turner, Brian Turner, Jr. (wife, Beth Turner) and Briana Turner; his four stepsons; 13 grandchildren; his brothers, Anthony “Tony” Turner, Vincent “Ricky” Turner, Kevin, Dougie, Kenny Lawrence, Robert Banks, Maurice Banks and Gregory Grice-Turner; his sister, Theresa Brown; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends and loved ones.

His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him—in the laughter he shared, the traditions he created, the encouragement he offered, and the love he gave so freely. Though he is no longer with us, Brian’s spirit will continue to live through his family, his faith, his community, and the many lives he touched.

His life will be celebrated at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 in the Chapel of the Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton with viewing and visitation from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
