Obituary For Charline Collier

CHARLINE COLLIER was born in (Winston County) Louisville, Mississippi to the late Charlie and Annie Cooper.

She received her education in the Louisville Mississippi School System. She also accepted Christ at an early age. In 1959, Charline married Herbert Collier and moved to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in 1960. They were married until Mr. Collier's death in 1988. They were blessed with one daughter. She worked in the cleaners industry until she retired in 1998.

Mrs. Collier was an active member of her church, Mitchell Memorial United Methodist Church as a member of the Senior Choir under the leadership of the late Rev. Joseph Davis. She continued to be an active member as the church became Camp Curtin - Mitchell Memorial United Methodist Church under the leadership of Rev. James Bishop. She later joined Abundant Life Community Church under the late Bishop Paul T. Veney. She also attended Mt. Zion Church Of God in Christ under Pastor Reginald Frisón.

She enjoyed spending time with her family. She especially loved being in the presence of her three grandchildren on a daily basis. She adored her 17 brothers and sisters and their children. She also enjoyed attending church and had an affinity to butterscotch candy.

Charline Collier at the age of 83 peacefully transitioned into eternal life after a brief illness on Thursday, March 28, 2024 in Hershey, Pennsylvania, joining her parents; her husband, Herbert Collier; her siblings, Walter Lee (Nig), Willie D. (Bubba), Annie Mae (Sister), Charlie Cooper, Jr., Willis Cooper (Pig), Hermice Dixon (Newt), Nellie McNeese (Doll), Mary Lee Carter, James Welch (Big James), Joe Dan Cooper (Boodoo), Sally Bell Wallace, Ann Lee Hughes, Veterine Wraggs (Mindy), Calvin Cooper, Gertrude Estes (Tata) and Willie James Cooper.

She leaves to cherish precious memories of her, her brother, Beason Cooper and his wife, Eloise whom she loved as a sister of Louisville, Mississippi; her daughter, Tiffany Salazar and her husband, Roy Salazar of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania; her precious grandchildren, Timothy, Hanna and Gia; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, other family members and friends.

Charline's life will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2024 in the Chapel of the Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton with viewing and visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and burial in William Howard Day Cemetery.
