Clair Eugene Laughman, 86 of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2025 while in the loving care of Hospice of Central PA.
Clair was born in Gettysburg, PA to Howard Albert Laughman and Nora Lucinda Brown Laughman. He was the youngest of six children.
Clair, an avid Penn State fan, forged many loving and trusting relationships throughout his lifetime, while sharing the past twenty-three years with Galein Adams and her supportive family.
Clair was a gentle soul with a kind heart and sincere appreciation and concern for others. He had a subtle wit, often joking that he felt good for a 35-year old! Clair enjoyed good home cookin’ and was not afraid to tell anyone that Galein was a good cook. Clair also enjoyed travelling. On his most recent trip with Galein and the family, a cruise to Bermuda, he was voted ‘best dressed’ a title he proudly and rightly deserved!
Clair retired from the ARC of Dauphin and Lebanon Counties as a custodian, a position in which he excelled and gained skills to help him throughout the course of his life. After retirement, his life was immensely enriched by his attendance at Life Time Adult Day Services in Lemoyne, PA. Daily, he enjoyed games, crafts, and socialization around the lunch table.
Clair taught us how to appreciate the simple things in life, and to cherish those around us.
Clair is survived by a wealth of friends who loved him deeply and though not naturally related, he loved and cherished Galein who was his ‘mother’, his ‘sister’, his best friend, his world!
His life will be celebrated at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 in the Chapel of the Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton with viewing and visitation from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and burial will take place at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 30, 2025 in Paxtang Cemetery.
