Obituary For Constance Richardson

Constance Savannah Richardson, 84, of Hampton, VA, formerly of Harrisburg, transitioned into eternal life on Friday, December 21, 2018 in Virginia. She was born in Cuthbert, GA, daughter of the late Cleopatra Sanders and George Y. Muse, an honor graduate of Mechanicsburg High School and graduate of West Chester University with a B.S. in Education. Mrs. Richardson was a trailblazer dedicating her life to education and working as a community advocate. She began her teaching career in the Middletown School District. In 1959, she began teaching in the Susquehanna School District, retiring with 35 years of service. After retirement, she became a substitute teacher. She was a dedicated member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, the Harrisburg GNO Club and the Board of Harrisburg Salvation Army. Connie enjoyed entertaining family and friends, traveling and exposing her daughters to the arts. One of her joys was spending precious time with her grandson. She was the widow of Raymond W. Richardson. She leaves to celebrate her life, her daughters, Leisa (Helen) Richardson of Brandon, FL and Pamela Richardson of Hampton, VA; her grandson, Cameron Flores of Atlanta, GA; two sisters, Sadie (Sidney) Hall and Lydia Clemons and one brother, John Muse, all of Washington D.C.; and loving cousins, nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law and wonderfully close friends. Connie's life will be celebrated on Friday, December 28 at 3:00 p.m. at The Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 212 N. Progress Ave., with visitation at 2:00pm. Repast immediately following. Although, I had not seen Connie for years, I will always remember her as a very good friend from the time we met long ago while working at Middletown AFB sometime in the late 1950s.

It seems impossible to speak of any consolation in the face of such a sad loss. Although I knew her for only a handful of years when she moved to the city of Hampton, along with Pamela and Cameron. However, I especially enjoyed the one-time when she agreed to go for a "short" spin (with Pamela's permission, of course)in my two-seat convertible, with the top down. And for that, I will always cherish those precious few moments.
The world has lost someone very special! Pamela, Leisa, Cameron and Family, may the thoughts and prayers of all those who love you help sustain you at this difficult time.
