DIXIE LEE DAVIS BARCLIFT, daughter of the late William Dixie Davis and the late Essie E. Larks, was born on Friday, August 28, 1953 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
She received her formal education in the Harrisburg School District. After completing her education, she relocated to Wilmington, North Carolina where she was employed by General Electric as a Turbine Engine Inspector for several years until she retired. In 1998, she returned to Harrisburg where she obtained employment as a hostess at UPMC.
Dixie united in holy matrimony with Eugene Barclift shortly after returning to Harrisburg.
In her leisure, she enjoyed singing, dancing, working on puzzles and collecting clowns. She loved seafood and loved to feed you seafood and corn. Dixie had a passion for dogs, including her Doberman, “Foxy” and her Rottweiler, “Demetrius”.
Dixie attended Tabernacle Baptist Church and Holy Light Love Fellowship Church where she attended until she became ill.
On Friday, September 10, 2021, Dixie Lee Davis Barclift gained her wings, at the age of 68 years and 13 days. She transitioned peacefully at the Hospital surrounded by her loved ones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two of her brothers, Raymond and Robert Eubanks. She leaves to cherish memories of her; her sisters, Barbara Washington, Leona Lewis, Stephanie Roy and Saundra Davis (Adullah Salaam), all of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Donna Walker (Roland) of Virginia; her brothers, William H. Eubanks (Charlene), Ricardo Davis (Sheila), Joseph Davis (Karen) and James Davis (Susan), all of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and George Eubanks (Gloria) of York, Pennsylvania; her three aunts, Mary Harper, Betty McCoy and Bonnie Booker; her uncle, Gary Miller and a host of other relatives and friends in North Carolina and Pennsylvania.
Dixie’s life will be celebrated on Friday, September 17 at 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton with viewing from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Live Streaming of the service will be available on Major H. Winfield Funeral Home’s YouTube page. COVID-19 Guidelines will be observed with face masks and social distancing for all attendees.
