Donald E. (Coach) Hawley
Donald was born in Harrisburg, PA to the late J. Robert and Frances C. (Waldron) Hawley.
Don was a 1967 graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School in Harrisburg, PA where he played football and basketball. After graduating from high school, Don worked at the former Bethlehem Steel plant in Steelton, PA for 31 years and 10 years in the materials testing lab for the PA Department of Transportation.
Don's love of sports led him to coach midget football and basketball for 25 years, touching the lives of many young men. His teams were very successful, winning multiple championships. He also enjoyed woodworking in his basement, playing poker, tennis and shooting pool.
He went to meet his Heavenly Maker on July 20, 2026.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years Patricia A. (Pettigrew) Hawley; son, Joshua; parents; brothers, William and Robert and a sister-in-law, Judith A. Hawley. He is survived by son, Bryon and daughter, Dawn. He is also survived by brothers, Kenneth, Edward, and Richard; sisters-in-law, Jhan Hawley, EvAnn Hawley and Cindy Bennett; along with stepson, Toren Pettigrew and two godsons, Chaka and Micah Sellers.
There will be no viewing or services. Burial will be in the Paxtang Cemetery with his wife.

Cousin Don was one tough cookie. An slightly elder cousin whom I pointed out to school friends when I spotted Don roaming the halls of McD... Peace with you Don.
