Obituary For Elista "Tiny" Vennie
ELISTA P. VENNIE transitioned into eternal life on Thursday, November 25, 2021 at Carolyn’s House Hospice Home in Harrisburg. She was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Isaac Williams and the late Roberta Vennie.
“Tiny”, as she was affectionately called by family members and friends, received her formal education in the Harrisburg Public School System and was a 1979 graduate of the John Harris Campus of Harrisburg High School. During her working career, she was employed by the former District Justice Marsha Stewart’s office.
Tiny was known to be loving, caring and kind hearted. She had a smile that would light up the room. She was loved dearly by her children and grandchildren and enjoyed family gatherings where she had the chance to spend time with her family and friends. At these gatherings, she could be heard in the distance singing and laughing. Tiny was an animal lover and enjoyed watching Animal Planet and she would gather everyone together to watch the show with her.
In addition to her parents; her sisters, Theresa Shadel and Constance Barreto and her grandson, Ahmad Tennant preceded her in death. To cherish precious memories of her are her six children, William Weedon III, Willie Weedon and his wife, Precious; Ashley Wise, Jasmine Hurt, Kirsten Parrish and Amir Anderson; her brothers, Derrick Young, Sr. and his wife, Carmen; Michael Shadel, Sr. and his wife, Robina; Carl Vennie and Daniel Vennie and his wife, Marilyn; her sister, Melissa Vennie; her four grandchildren, Nasir Weedon, Ashton Wise, Knight Weedon and Mylo Parrish-Smith and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Elista’s life will be celebrated on Friday, December 3 at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton with visitation from 5:30 PM until 6:00 PM.
COVID-19 Guidelines will be observed with face masks and social distancing for all attendees.

Tiny, it's Trey..your half-Brother. Our Father Isaac Williams Jr. and I saw you last when I was 14 years old. My wife Cindy and I have spent the last 17 years searching for you. I never knew your given name, I only knew you as my sister Tiny. We had so much we wanted to share with you. We pray that your children or grandchildren will reach out to us to share stories of your lives together. At 17 I joined The U.S. Army and spent 30 years honoring our Father, showing him in this life and the next that he had two accomplished children. I remember Willie and William. I have always kept you in my heart as my only sibling. I wish my "other" family would have allowed the two of us to be closer. Our Father, Isaac, Zeke, or Ike now sits beside you in God's House. I hope he is telling you about the way I made sure he had a proper funeral. I am sorry that we could not find you here, but we are sure to see you again in the next life. Your brother CSM (Ret.) My deepest condolences to the family. I shall always remember Tiny's beautiful smile and her zest for living. May our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ comfort each of you. Although there are tears of sorrow being shed today may they be replaced with tears of joy tomorrow when you realize she is walking around Heaven because to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. May sweet and wonderful memories help to sustain you.
