Fannie Mounds Menefee

Fannie Mae Mounds Menefee, 69, of Oberlin, transitioned into eternal life on Monday, April 27, 2020 in the peace and love of her home. She was born in Harrisburg, daughter of the late Samuel and Marion (Carter) Mounds and was also preceded in transitioning by her two week old brother, John Mounds, Jr, and her sister, Rev. Dr. Joyce Mounds Anderson.

Fannie was a graduate of the former John Harris High School, HACC and Penn State Univ. and retired from PA Bureau of Minority and Women Business Opportunities, a lifelong active member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, where through the years, she participated and served in Sunday School, Junior Choir, Baptist Training Union, Visions Choir, as the Church Clark and Financial Secretary. She also served as Corresponding Secretary for Central Baptist Assoc. Women's Ministry and Central Baptist Assoc. of PA. In the community, Fannie was a member of the Mental Health/Individuals with Disabilities Committee of Dauphin Co. and a parent volunteer and supporter of the ARC of Dauphin Co. Aktion Club.

She leaves to celebrate her life, her beloved husband, Lawrence Menefee; her daughters, Denita Menefee-McFarland (James) and Amy Menefee Longs (James); her sons, Blair Davis and Todd Anthony Menefee; her sisters, Norma Littleton and Carol Headen; her brother, Ross Mounds (Linda); her seven grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Fannie's life will be celebrated beginning with a public viewing on Monday, May 4 in the Sanctuary of her Church, 20 Locust St., Steelton from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. Covid 19 guidelines will be observed with masks and six foot distancing for all attendees. Private Family viewing 12 Noon until 1:00 p.m. followed by Funeral Services at 1:00 p.m. and burial in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
