Frances Louise Robinson, beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Friend and Daughter of the late Raleigh and Martha Rucker, was born in Monroe, Virginia.
The family moved to Steelton, Pennsylvania during her youth and she received her formal education in the Central Dauphin School District. Frances entered into a union with James W. Robinson in August of 1958 and together they had 6 children whom they loved dearly.
Frances was gainfully employed throughout her working years at Telegraph Press, Harrisburg School District and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of General Services. One of her most notable jobs was running Tojos Store where there was a time she assisted neighbors in need with their grocery bill. That gesture alone speaks to the heart of who Frances was. She was a welcoming, nurturing, caring, loving Mother figure to so many and took pride is lending a hand wherever she could to support loved ones and their kids.
Frances was known for her love of the game Bingo and played at many local Bingo locations during any given week. She could be seen interacting with friends, as well as calling at "40" at the appropriate time; smiling as she raised her hand to call βBINGOβ, whenever she had the opportunity to win. Of course, she tucked those winnings away in her secret place for another day, activity, or to help someone in need. Frances also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandson, watching old westerns and βThe Price Is Rightβ and reading love novels, especially Harlequin Romance.
Frances L. Robinson, just days of turning 87 years old, passed away peacefully at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital on Thursday, April 2, 2026 surrounded by her loving children. She was preceded in death by her late Husband, James W. Robinson, Sr.; daughter, Delphine A. Rowland; brothers, Randolph and Jackie Rucker and sisters, Edith Gwyn and Shirley Easter.
She leaves to cherish memories of her, her children, Timothy (Evelyn) Morrison, James W. Robinson, Jr., Keith E. Robinson, Craig (Ella) Robinson, Toni M. Robinson, Shawn (Charnel) Robinson, Peter (Shera) Easter; her siblings, George Rucker, Sr., Dorothy Robinson and Peggy (James) Burford, and a host of grands and great-grands.
Frances' life will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2026 in the Sanctuary of Turner Memorial Baptist Church, 130 Watson Street, Steelton with viewing and visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and burial in Paxtang Cemetery.
