Obituary For Gerald Scott

GERALD W. SCOTT, son of the late Geneva Scott and the late Horace Pope, was born on Sunday, July 29, 1973 in Smithville, Virginia.

He received his formal education in the Harrisburg Public School District and was a graduate of Harrisburg High School. During his working career, he worked at Ames Tru Temper and various jobs throughout his adult life.

Gerald was family oriented, outgoing and loved to laugh and bust. He also loved his family and friends. In his leisure, he enjoyed playing cards, watching sports, going to the casino and playing chess. He was a great Chef and enjoyed cooking and cooking on the grill.

On Thursday, February 4, 2021 at the age of 47 years, 6 months and 7 days, Gerald W. Scott transitioned into eternal life.

In addition to his parents, his brother, Keith Scott, preceded Gerald in death. He leaves to celebrate his life, his wife, Sonya M. Anderson-Scott; his children, Eric Ausberry, Nashanda Watson, Micah Clark, Mikale Clark and Nikosha Anderson, all of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; Ky´Llen Hymon of Florida, Jaylah Wilson of Oberlin, Pennsylvania; Shytasia Anderson of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, KeiJuwan Hymon of Florida, Dana Purdy, Jr. of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Tagae Carter of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; his siblings, Kia Scott (Randy) of Virgina; Daniel Scott (Anna) of Middletown, Pennsylvania and Ashley Scott (Dave); his sister-in-law, Theresa Chambers; his brother-in-law, Adrian Buckner (Daniqwa); his mother-in-law, Carla Denson (Darryl), all of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; a special aunt, Martha Scott and a special uncle, Lester Pope; his grandchildren, Serenity Ausberry, Kenneth Ausberry, Lauryn Anderson, Shaquan Benton, Jr., Z’hala Watson and Layla Anderson; his godsons, Derick Bell and Ronald Bell, Jr. and a host of other relatives and friends. Gerald's life will be celebrated at 1 PM on Saturday, February 13 in the Sanctuary of Gospel Fellowship at 1635 N. 7th St., Harrisburg with viewing from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Covid 19 guidelines will be observed with masks and six foot Social Distancing for all attendees. Arrangements entrusted to the Ministry of Comfort of Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton.
