Gertrude J. Banks, 95, of Harrisburg, peacefully transitioned into eternal life on Monday, December 2, 2019 at UPMC Pinnacle Harrisburg Hospital.
She was born in Youngstown, OH, daughter of the late James R. and Charlotte L. (Bradford) Wooding. Gertrude was a member of the former Camp Curtin Memorial Mitchell United Methodist Church and retired from the former New Cumberland Army Depot.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, her two sisters and one of her sons, David L. Banks and leaves to celebrate her life, her sons, James L. Wooding (Brenda) and Sydney A. Banks, Sr. (Cybil); her 13 grandchildren; her 11 great-grands; her 14 great-great-grands and a host of other relatives and friends. Gertrude's life will be celebrated on Monday, December 9 at 12 Noon in the Chapel of Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton with viewing 11:00 a.m. until 12 Noon and burial in William Howard Day Cemetery.
