Gladys Dee Romain, 71, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, peacefully passed away on April 15, 2026. Born in Middletown, Pennsylvania, Gladys lived a life filled with love, compassion, and dedication to both her family and her community.
Gladys devoted her professional life to caring for others as a Registered Nurse and later served as a Utilization Management (UM) Manager at Capital Blue Cross. Her work reflected her deep commitment to helping people and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those around her.
She was known for her vibrant spirit, warm heart, and unforgettable sense of humor. Gladys loved to laugh, crack jokes, and bring joy to those in her presence. She had a passion for traveling, working hard, and most importantly, spending time with her family. She cherished every moment with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, often sharing stories from her life that will continue to live on through them.
Gladys is lovingly survived by her children, Melissa, James, Jr. and Tylette; her cherished grandchildren, Treyana, Shaila, Leah, Alysea, Amir, Ronald (RJ), Reminisce, Char’Laizia, Jackelyn, Ianna, James III, Jaysha, Jailiana, Jayden, Samyra, Keenyah and Kenyon; her 25 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Johanna, Angela, Elisabeth, Victor, Jr., Martin, Sr., Mark, Sr., Donald, Sr. and Vincent.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Victor H. Romain, Sr. and Reba H. Romain, as well as her brother, Neil and sister, Cecilia.
Gladys leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, laughter, and kindness. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who knew her.
Her life will be celebrated at 12 Noon on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 in the Sanctuary of Crossroads Christian Ministries, 350 N. Harrisburg Street, Oberlin with viewing and visitation from 11:00 a.m. until 12 Noon.
