I was saddened to learn that Gettysburg College buddy Gordie Summers passed away in the Fall. He was a quiet guy but I had fun shooting baskets with him and Kevin Tylus.
He seemed to take joy in swatting my shots away. I beat him one time 1 on 1. You would think I won the Olympic Gold Metal.
Another good Gettysburg guy gone. RIP big guy.
Just heard today Gordon passed away. Knew him and played basketball (we were co-captains our senior year) and other sports with him since he was 6. What a good teammate and friend, could not ask for better. We played through High School and both played in college. Gordon was a gentle, super smart, thoughtful, nice guy. I wish I'd heard and would have been able to attend his memorial service. He was the best, and like silk for a big man around the basket rim—no doubt the best power forward in MAHS history. Will miss you brother. Tom Sniscak
My brother. We were together in every class from 1st through 5th grade. I'll never forget the winning shot for the league championship. Love you my brother. Seen you on the other side.

My "outlet man". Brother Gordon may you RIP🙏. Lori (Schley) Groves and I (your point guard) Robert send our sincere condolences to your family. You and I were joined at the hip on the court. You always made me better than I was both at Middletown and later at Gettysburg. Lori said you were the only one who was ever in class with her. The smartest kids were in the same classes lol! Gordie, luv you always, and we'll play again on the other side.
