Janice Marie George-Jones

I met Ms. Janice shortly before she passed away. I'm Scott and I work at the civil war museum. Every day after I met her I would check out back to see if she was praying because she said God heard her better since it was the highest point in the city. Every day I look for her and I looked today, 4/11/22 and something told me to check and see if anything happened to her. I am so sorry for her family and the loss of such an amazing woman. I met her the Monday after her nephews wedding and she got the arbor from their wedding and put it on the corner of 17th and market. From the moment I met her, I loved her.

The person on the other end said this is your classmate Janice George. She asked me if I was coming to my relative's house? I said yes I will be coming over. When I got their we had such a wonderful conversation talking about our families. She really loved her brothers and sisters. Janice told me how she would walk to steelton to see her sister. She asked me if I still lived in the same neighborhood that I grew up in? I said yes .she said don't be surprised if I knocked on your door. I said ok. Janice was doers of God's word. Janice was a beautiful person inside and out. I still recall her as a cute little girl in the PJ's with pigtails and ribbons. Miss Phyllis always kept Janice and all her children impeccably dressed well. Much later in life I was reunited with Janice when my little sister Sam met Curtis. Janice and I were immediately fast friends and shared much good family fun together. Her family game playing and competitive spirit I found to be delightful. I will always remember her for her naturally loving demeanor. GOD truly blessed Janice in many ways. We will miss her smiling face but we trust and believe her GODLY spirit will live on in all that knew her.

She was always on the porch with her head in a book, I can remember thinking this is the smartest person I've ever known. Janice did not play when it came to school and the books.
