Jerome “Tiff” Diggs, 60, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025. A man of extraordinary kindness and deep faith, Jerome touched countless lives through his passion for cooking, his service to the community, and his unwavering love for his family and friends.
Jerome spent the last years of his life doing what he loved most—serving others as a chef. His culinary talents were not only a profession but a calling, as he devoted his time to preparing hot meals for food banks, homeless shelters, and those in need. His heart for charity extended beyond the kitchen as he also worked to provide clothing and hygiene products for the less fortunate.
Jerome’s life was anchored by his love for gospel music, his church, and dancing—moments where his joy and spirit were most evident. He was a faithful member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, where his presence and contributions will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his beloved grandfather, Lloyd Brandt; grandmother, Zelda Atkins; uncle, Lloyd George Brandt, Jr.; father, Walter Diggs and niece, Jessica Lyles.
Jerome is survived by his loving mother, Donna Palmer and stepfather, Marvin Palmer; his brothers, John Hill (Jeanette), James E. Lyles (Stephanie) and Michael A. Lyles (Lynn); his step-siblings, Rosie Motes, Aron Lyles, Jonathan Palmer (Krystal), Mia Baltimore, Helen Palmer, Anthony Sweets, Khaldun Rasheed and Diane Wilson-Bedford; a host of cherished nieces, nephews and extended family members.
He was blessed with many friends who brought joy to his life, especially Diane Byrd, a lifelong friend and Alexandria Morell, his nurse, who cared for him with compassion and dedication during his final days.
His life will be celebrate with a viewing from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 2730 Booser Avenue, Harrisburg, PA 17103. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 PM, officiated by Reverend Dr. Arthur L. Brown.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church in Jerome’s memory, honoring his legacy of service and love.
Jerome’s life was a beautiful testament to generosity, faith and joy. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
