Karen Lynette Anderson, 61, of Holly St., Harrisburg, transitioned into eternal life on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at the Carolyn Croxton Slane Hospice Residence in Harrisburg. She was born in York, PA, daughter of the late Beverly J. Anderson and John Stewart, Jr. and at the age of two her family relocated to Harrisburg, where she received her formal education in the Harrisburg School District. She received her GED in 1982 and having the desire to further her education, she attended the Nursing Home Training Institute from where she received her Certified Nursing Certificate in 1983 and worked in the field of nursing until 1988. Karen was saved and baptized in 1975. She loved going to church, singing gospel music, was on the Choir, an Usher, an avid Bible reader, loved witnessing to family and friends and helping others. She also loved to spend time with her family and to travel. In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her siblings, Leroy Anderson, Lorna Patino, Lorna Bryant, Dana Stewart, Christian Early and Kjmon Brown and she leaves to celebrate her life, her daughters, Shanice Love and Sharita Early; her son, Jamon Walker; her siblings, Rodney Walker, Stuart Walker, Danita Davis, Vonda Anderson, Kim Stewart, John Stewart, Jr. and Deidra Thacker; her two step-sisters, Patricia Carey and Rosalind Hairston; her step-brother, Leonard Hairston; her seven grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Her life will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 27 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton with viewing from 10:00 until 11:00 AM. Live Streaming of the service will be available on Major H. Winfield Funeral Home’s YouTube page. COVID-19 Guidelines will be observed with face masks and social distancing for all attendees. w
