LILLIAM DURAN was born in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico to the late Anibal Salome Dejesus and the late Carmen Caba Vera. She was also known as Lilliam Salome Caba. Her children called her “Mai” “Mom” and “Wela” by her grandchildren. Many of her siblings called her “Tanque” or “La Negra” but at the end we all ended up calling her “Wee-Wee”.
She lived her life to the fullest, her cheerful personality and happy spirit touched so many lives along her journey in this life. She was a woman of faith, who loved to sing and worship the Lord. She loved cooking, making arrangements and decorations for parties and weddings. Not to mention her signature “punch” that was a must have at every gathering…Many of you kept the recipe.
Lilliam also enjoyed fishing, playing racket ball (birdie) and bargain shopping as Manny called it. Spending time with her family was her joy and she always strived to keep the family together. She adored her children and grandchildren. She was a loving mother, a dedicated wife, caring sister and an aunt who was there for you and showed up at every event. She was a friend to everyone, even when her health was declining. She took care of her beloved mother and father until their passing. She always put herself last.
