LOUIS H. JONES was born in Anderson, South Carolina to the late Willie A. Jones and Alice Lewis Jones.
He received his education at William Penn High School and graduated in 1958. He joined the army/infantry in 1967 and was stationed in Korea during the Vietnam War. He became a worker for the Hershey Chocolate Factory as a machinist and had been employed there for 40 years until he retired in 2004.
He loved being with friends and capturing the memories of his loved ones. His hobbies consisted of astrology, singing, fishing, working on cars and home repairs. For a short time, Louis was also a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He also loved going to the Broad Street Market where he would hang out with friends.
Louis H. Jones, at the age of 82 years, entered into eternal life on Sunday, October 6, 2024 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Louis is peacefully reunited with his mother and father, sisters, Dorothy Wilson and Doris Clark, Joyce Ann Jones, David Jerry Jones, along with other loved ones.
He leaves memories for his four daughters, Rehema Jones, Ayana Jones, Jahmeelah London and Naheelah Jones; one son, Lewis Barbour; granddaughters; Nikkita Jones, Channia Hawkins, Jahmeelah Jefferys, Yaneasha Jones, Jaelah Ambush of Port Royal, Pennsylvania and Nariyah Jones; grandsons, Austin London, Rafiq London, Ibn London, Nashawn Jones and Marquan Hughes; great grandchildren, Jamier Lopez, Gioni Jones-Ngo, Leilani Lopez, Amylah Jones-Ngo, Eden Jones and Mariliz Lopez, all of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; his siblings, Mike Jones, Patty Ann Jones, James Michael Jones, all of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Quinton Alise Jones of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Corrie Gaynell Dennison, Beatrice Londa MaClendon and Yolanda Elaine Brown of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Louis' life will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2024 in the Chapel of the Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton with visitation from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and burial in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
