Obituary For Mark Farano

MARK ANTHONY FARANO, son of Katiria Ortiz Malette and Mario Farano, was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

He received his formal education in the Harrisburg Public School System and was a 2017 graduate of Harrisburg High School, John Harris Campus, which was one of his greatest accomplishments.

In July of 2018, Mark was no longer institutionalized and shortly after met April, which motivated him to keep his freedom. On August 23, 2019 Mark and April welcomed their beautiful daughter, Laylianna which was the most important part of his life, becoming a father was everything to him.

Mark survived a severe car accident by Gods will on February 1, 2020, with his cousins Massi Malette and Johnathan Ramos and since have shared a special bond together.

Mark was a devoted father and a family man, he cherished moments with his family and making them smile. In his early years, he was curious and adventurous and would test waters to occasionally break rules. Mark just wanted something to laugh about and as he grew older he realized that he could find joy in life without jeopardizing his freedom.

After his accident Mark had to learn a new way of life and became specialized in electronics. He grew a community with other streamers who looked up to him. His online name was “Gloxkk”. He would play online on multiple devices including his tablet and PS5, wearing a headset to be able to communicate with his fellow online teammates/squad. Mark loved listening to music and even took up recording his own music. He would never say no to food, especially a home cooked meal. He enjoyed sports including football, boxing and basketball. His favorite teams were the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Yankees and Miami Heat. He was resilient, Mark was kind-hearted and compassionate, he was supportive, adventurous and wise. Mark will be remembered by his smile, his laugh and the impact he left. Mark is cherished by his loved ones and will be deeply missed by his family, friends and anyone who knew him.

In the early hours of Tuesday, November 25, 2024, Mark Anthony Farano passed away unexpectedly at the UPMC Harrisburg Hospital in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania at the age of 27 years.

He leaves to celebrate his life, his mother, Katiria Malette; his father, Mario Farano; his step mother, Davina Farano; his step father, Steve Malette; his daughter, Layliyanna Farano, who was Mark’s number one motivation to keep going and he did for almost 5 years; his fiancée, April Farano; his siblings, Rasheid Malette, Kyeve Malette, Stephon Malette, Sean Malette, Giovanni Farano, Deven Farano, Noah Farano, Damian Farano, Jordan Farano, Makayla Farano and Jaylen Ramos; his grandmothers, Magdelena Cruz and Estrella Santos and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Mark's life will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2024 in the Chapel of the Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton with viewing and visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and burial in Paxtang Cemetery.
