On Saturday, August 1, 2020 at UPMC Pinnacle West Shore Hospital in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, Mark Leonard Greene, transitoned into eternal life. He was born in Jamaica, New York to the late Herman Desland Greene and the late Marion Priscilla Lundy Greene. He received his formal education in the New York School System and was a 1972 graduate from Springfield Gardens High School. After high school, he joined the United States Navy and proudly served from July 1972 to November 1983. Upon being honorably discharged from the United States Navy, he returned home to New York. During his working career in New York, he was an employee of Citi Bank as a Sales Representative for about five years before migrating to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. While in Harrisburg, he became a Customer Service Representative Supervisor for EDS. Sometime later, he became an employee at Mid-Atlantic Waterproofing Company as a Sales Representative. He was one of the top sales agents for the company and received several awards and recognition for his sales accomplishments. He retired in 2016 and traveled between Harrisburg and New York. All who knew Mark would say that he was giving, kind, fun, energetic and supportive. In his leisure, he played the guitar, liked to play cards and was very competitive. He loved to dance and loved dogs, especially Chinx. He always provided you with information on how to keep yourself healthy, whether it was talking to you, ordering you something off line, reading a book or providing you with a link for you to research yourself. In addition to his parents, his paternal grandparents, Louise Arrabeth “Ba” Desland and Lawrence Clement “Papa” Greene preceded him in transitioning. He leaves to mourn his departure, yet to celebrate his life and legacy; his daughter, Sakinah A. Karanja of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; his two brothers, Lyle M. Uncle Mark was such a sweet guy. I will always remember his carefree spirit and his everlasting love for God. Since we were kids, every time we got together, he was always dancing and smiling and telling funny stories. He will be remembered forever for his kind heart. I love you Uncle Mark. Sending love and light to all the Greene family during this time!

My uncle Mark was always a fun guy. He always encouraged my siblings and I and was always keeping us entertained by joking and dancing! He was always loving, supportive, and one of the most positive thinkers I've ever met and I thank him for the light he brought. I will miss his dancing and his smile! Love you Uncle Mark! My love and condolences to my Greene family and all those who loved him.
