A TIME TO BE BORN
MAUREEN CECELIA CAMPBELL was born in Kingston, Jamaica to Icyline Brown and Nemiah Campbell.
A TIME TO LEARN She received her formal education at the Grateful Hill Primary School and continued her studies at St Mary’s College and Commercial School where she did very well.
A TIME TO WORK Maureen's first job was working at a Drugstore in Kingston. Later in her life she went to work at the Sheraton Hotel for almost 30 years where she was also awarded for her outstanding performance and long service. She later went to work at the Liguanea Club where she retired as a supervisor.
A TIME TO SHOW LOVE “Mamie” and “Sister Maureen”, as she was known by family and friends, was a mother to everyone, her own kids, her nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and even strangers. She shared her kindness, love and companionship willingly with nothing in return. If anyone would wonder “Where are we going to sleep?” Maureen’s house was always open. During one of the worst hurricanes known as hurricane Gilbert in 1998, Maureen’s house was filled with family, friends and even people from the community.
A TIME TO ENJOY LIFE In her leisure, she enjoyed reading, gardening and music, even though she wasn't the best dancer, she would dance around the house bringing joy and happiness around her children and her grandchildren.
A TIME FOR CHANGE In 2004, Maureen migrated to the United States of America where she lived with one of her daughters and grandchildren. Maureen was a quiet person, respectful and loving. She lived a good life.
A TIME TO DIE In May 2021, Maureen became ill. She never recovered before the time of her passing. Maureen Cecelia Campbell, at the age of 73 years, 11 months and 19 days, transitioned into eternal life on Saturday, November 12, 2022 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
