Mia A Thompson, 56, of Harrisburg, transitioned into eternal life at Carolyn’s House Hospice on Sunday, June 20, 2021 after a two year battle with cancer. She was born in Harrisburg, daughter of the late Diana (Purnell) Thompson and Johnny Thompson. Mia was a graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School and was employed at Save-A-Lot until she became ill. In her spare time, Mia enjoyed playing cards, reading, doing puzzles, playing games on her kindle, spending time with her children, her grandchildren, her uncle, Wayne Waters who was like a brother to her and her other family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in transitioning by one of her sisters, Altavise “Bita” Thompson and her niece, Bridgette Thompson. Mia leaves to celebrate her life; her children, Michael (Tyeasha) Thompson, Eboney (Alfonso, Jr) Burnett and Tyeshia (Christopher) Everett; her brothers, Anthony and Shawn Thompson; her sisters, Tracey Thompson and Annasavon Thompson-Adams; her 10 grandchildren and her great grandson, all of Harrisburg and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mia’s life will be celebrated privately by her beloved family.
