Milvin McArthur was born to Janie Mae (Jackson) McArthur and the late Howard McArthur, Jr. in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He received his education in the Harrisburg School District and attended Harrisburg High School, where he enjoyed playing football in summer leagues. Milvin dedicated his career to the labor force, excelling as a forklift operator and demonstrating a strong work ethic and commitment.
Embracing the wisdom of Proverbs 22:6: “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it” Milvin accepted Christ at an early age. Milvin knew the Word of the Lord and often engaged in thoughtful conversations about the scriptures, sharing his insights and encouraging others in their faith.
On his 45th birthday, Milvin experienced a moment of immense joy when he welcomed his only son, Elijah Prince McArthur, into the world—a source of fulfillment that defined his life.
Milvin was a man who loved his family deeply. He found joy in dancing, engaging in skilled games, and sharing laughter with his unique laugh that could light up any room. An avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, he wore his team colors with pride and enthusiasm, always ready to bet on their games.
Above all, he cherished every moment spent with his son, whether they were racing go-karts at a sports complex, shooting hoops, visiting family, shopping, or simply enjoying video games together. Their adventures created lasting memories, and Milvin loved traveling and taking road trips, embracing every opportunity for family bonding.
On Friday, October 18, 2024, at the age of fifty-five (55) years, Milvin transitioned from this earthly life to be with his Lord and Savior. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Henry Jackson (Mary); paternal grandparents, Howard McArthur, Sr. (Mamie); uncles, Willie Cornelius, James Cornelius, Sr., Willie “Sonny” McArthur and Robert McKinney, Jr.; aunt, Mamie Cunningham; nephew, Randolph B. Echols II and step-sister, Sodea A. Brown.
Milvin is survived by his beloved son, Elijah Prince McArthur-Best; his mother, Janie Mae Jackson McArthur; step-mother, Delores McArthur; brothers, Mark Anthony, Michael Keith and Marlin McArthur; sisters, Lisa Green-Powell (Wilbert “Pete”), Marcy McArthur-Mitchell (Myron), all of Harrisburg, PA and sister, Melinda McArthur of Columbus, OH. He also leaves behind uncles, Larry and Randy McArthur; aunts, Mary McKinney and Martha McArthur and his “brothers of the heart”, Donald Cofield Jr. (Alana), Jacques “Strap” White and Arnell Hill (Stephanie); 12 nieces; 4 nephews; along with a host of family and friends who will remember him fondly.
Milvin will be deeply missed, but his spirit and love will forever remain in our hearts.
His life will be celebrated at 12 Noon on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 in the Sanctuary of Turner Memorial Baptist Church, 130 Watson Street, Steelton with viewing and visitation from 11:00 a.m. until 12 Noon and burial in Paxtang Cemetery.

His protection and most of all his presence . I hate it for you cousin. I hate this for your son. I remember we often rode thinking about jojo. I hope now you guys are up there having a time.
