NATHANIEL McWHITE, 96, affectionately known as “Deac”, the son of the late William D. and the late Agnes Carroll McWhite, was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
He received his formal education in the Harrisburg School District and subsequently enlisted in the United States Army. Nathaniel served his country faithfully for two years and was honorably discharged in 1952. His employment history included working for Bethlehem Steel and later for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania House of Representatives, from where he retired as a Congressional Aide.

Nathaniel was a faithful, life-long member of the Goodwin Memorial Baptist Church serving the Lord as a Deacon (Emeritus), Trustee, Central Baptist Association of the Laymen, Usher, and member of the Men’s Choir. He was also a volunteer with the Lottsville Community Coalition. He took pride in his ministry of mentoring young men and was ever ready to share his love for the Lord.
On Tuesday, August 8, 2023, Nathaniel McWhite transitioned peacefully while in the comfort of his home. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Louise; by four of his brothers, Thomas McWhite, William McWhite, Henry McWhite and John F. McWhite and his three sisters, Virginia McWhite-Reid, Cora Lee McWhite-Flemister and Agnes McWhite-Mason and his oldest grandchild and only grandson, Philip J. McWhite.
