PHYLLIS STERN was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to the union of the late William Hodge and Louise Brown Hodge.
She received her formal education in the Harrisburg School District. She later graduated from Head Hunters Beauty School. She loved doing hair!
Phyllis loved to help people. That love led her to the healthcare field. During her working career, she worked at Homeland Center, Spring Creek and Blue Ridge Nursing Centers giving them many years of dedicated service.
In her leisure, she enjoyed time with family, children and grandchildren. She loved her music (especially Marvin Gay). She loved cooking and loved getting her hands dirty in the garden. Phyllis will forever be remembered for her big heart and loving ways.
On Tuesday, October 15, 2024 Phyllis Stern at the age of 74 years, transitioned from her Earthly life into Eternal life at her home in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her great grandson, Khayri Holloway. She leaves to celebrate precious memories of her, her children, Annette M. “Honkie Dori”) Stern and Harvey (Fats) Stern; her five grandchildren, Jasmine Stern, Harvey E. Stern III, Quinn Holloway, Khayri Holloway and Aneye Stern and seven great-grandchildren, Haidynn Stern, Harvey Stern IV, Houston Stern, Heaven Stern, Jaheim Gallatin, Jahkai Franklin and Kayden Holloway.
Phyllis' life will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 21, 2024 in the Chapel of the Major H. Winfield Funeral Home with viewing and visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and burial in William Howard Day Cemetery.
