Reverend Lillie J. Griffin, 76, of Birch Knoll Dr., Harrisburg, transitioned into eternal life on Saturday, December 12, 2020 in the peace and love of her home. She was born in Dawson, GA, daughter of the late Johnnie B. and Arrie B. (McClendon) Jones, a graduate of Steelton-Highspire High School, attended Equipping the Saints School of Ministry and Liberty University, and was an employee of Capitol Blue Cross from where she retired. Reverend Griffin was a founding member of Fellowship Baptist Church where she served as a Deaconess, Church School Teacher, Prayer Warrior, Associate Pastor and Pastor since July of 2000. More than anything else, she loved praising the Lord and feasting on His Word. She is the widow of Deacon Harvie Griffin and in addition to him and her parents, she was preceded in death by three of her sisters, Sheila, Marcia and Beverly. She leaves to celebrate her life, her brothers, Willie B. Jones of Highspire and John B. Jones, Jr. of Harrisburg; her sisters, Betty R. Jones and Louise Baltimore (Tyrone) of Steelton and Florine Canard of Newark, NJ; her adopted sister, Elizabeth Jefferies of Steelton; her daughter of the heart, Erika Lyn Baltimore Roberts (Toby) of Yardley, PA; her five grandchildren; her godson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Reverend Griffin's life will be celebrated on Saturday, December 19 with a Public Viewing from 9:00 until 10:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary of Tabernacle Baptist Church, 2730 Booser Ave., Harrisburg. Private Family Services will follow and burial in William Howard Day Cemetery. COVID-19 Guidelines will be observed with face masks and six feet social distancing for all attendees.
