Obituary For Sarah Catherine Henderson

Sarah Catherine Henderson, 61, of Harrisburg, fell asleep in death on Friday, July 1, 2022. She was born in Harrisburg, daughter of the late Leroy Brown and Nannie Mae (Pendleton) Brown. She received her formal education in the Harrisburg School District and was a 1978 graduate of Harrisburg High School. Sarah was employed by the Harrisburg School District Food Services Department for over 30 years. "Sissie", as she was affectionately known, loved shopping, sewing, crocheting and especially cooking. On July 22, 1989 Sarah dedicated her life to Jehovah in water baptism and served Jehovah faithfully for 33 years. Sarah was the loving wife of Marc Henderson and is additionally survived by her oldest daughter; Markeia Gordon, her loving son-in-law, Westley Gordon; her baby girl, Nichole Henderson; her nine grandchildren, Christian, Janaya, Chylin, Jamear, Jayden, Jenesis, Christopher, Jarell and Jhakir; her siblings, Darryl Lee, Michael Brown, Franklin Brown, Diane Jenkins, Anthony Burnette, Michael & Michelle Payne, her loving sisters-in-law, Debbie Henderson and Denise Smith; her brothers-in-law, Veda Preston, Eric Smith(Angelia); her father-in-law, Eugene Smith and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. She is preceded in death by her baby daughter, Darlene Henderson, her loving baby sister, Constance Collins; her dearest sisters, Eugenia Smith and Chinecia Smith and her brothers Carl Cameron, John Blackstone, Kirk Lee, Ivan Smith and Leroy Brown.

Viewing for Sarah will be on Saturday, July 9 at 10 to 11 a.m. in the Chapel of the Major H.Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton followed by burial in William Howard Day Cemetery.

Guidelines will be observed with face masks for all attendees. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. in the Mount Pleasant Congregation of Jehovah's Witness, 4431 Rodkey Rd, Harrisburg, 17110.
