Obituary For Sarah Lewis

Sarah N. Lewis, 89, of Harrisburg, transitioned into eternal life on Monday, August 31, 2020 at Homeland Center.

She was born in Monticello, Mississippi, daughter of the late Verious and Josie (Armstrong) Lewis; retired from PA Dept. of Revenue with 35 years of service; a former member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Pulpit Guild, Nursery, Assistant Sunday School and Youth Church Teacher and the Food Bank; presently a faithful member of Baptist Fellowship Church; Past Worthy Matron of Esther Chapter No. 1 O. E. S., Past Loyal Lady Ruler, Golden Circle of Harrisburg Assembly #50, Charter Member and Past Most Ancient Loyal Matron of Rahab Court #36 and Daughter of Isis, Himyar Court #97. Sarah leaves to celebrate her life, her children, Henry W. Lewis, Jr. of Charleston, WV; Deborah Lewis; Deacon Barry B. Lewis and DeShawn Lewis, all of Harrisburg; her only living brother, Joseph P. Lewis (Lynelle) of Oakland, CA; her four grandchildren; her five great grands and a host of other relatives and friends. Her life will be celebrated on Saturday, September 5th at 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary of the Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church at 212 N. Progress Ave. with viewing 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. and burial in William Howard Day Cemetery.

Covid 19 guidelines will be observed with masks and six foot social distancing for all attendees. Arrangements entrusted to the Ministry of Comfort of Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton Live streaming of the service will be available on the Major H. Winfield Funeral Home YouTube page.
