SHAWN EDWARD BRUNER, affectionately known as Dirt and Poco was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the oldest child of Susan Williams and Charles Bruner.
He received his formal education from the Harrisburg School District and attended the John Harris High School in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He was a factory and warehouse worker.
Shawn loved watching basketball and football, especially the Philadelphia Eagles, he also loved putting things together and taking them apart. He loved to see how things were made but more than anything he loved being a father and grandfather.
He was such a caring person and before passing he became a caregiver for a girlfriend.
On Thursday, March 28, 2024, Shawn Edward Bruner, peacefully transitioned from his earthly life into his eternal life at the age of 50 at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Shawn was preceded in death by his grandparents, Emma and Charles Bruner and Susan and Robert Etzweiler; his great aunt, Rachel Evelyn Bruner; his siblings, Charles Mitchell and Tameka and leaves to celebrate his life, his children, Kaila Hull, Shawn Bruner Warren and Shawnae Bruner; his four grandsons, one natural and 3 of the heart; his siblings, Valerie Holmes, Juanita Mitchell, Carolyn Mitchell, Crystal Holmes, Shawnicka Bruner and Carl Simoncelli; his stepdaughter, Antionette “Tony” Mallory; his best friend, Laron Wilson; his beloved pitbull, Sage; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, all whom he loved dearly.
His life will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2024 in the Chapel of the Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton with viewing and visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
