Obituary For Timothy Blanchard

Timothy Karl Blanchard, son of the late Wesley Blanchard and Ernestine Tucker Blanchard, was born in Memphis, Tennessee at John Gaston Hospital.

The family eventually moved to Cincinnati, OH. Always eager to work and growing up with little means, he secured work at an earlier age. His first job was as a paper boy, delivering newspapers early before school, on his bicycle. The family then moved to Chicago, IL where they settled on the city’s South Side. He attended Hyde Park High School and spent his summers working with the Neighborhood Youth Corps (NYC). Later, Timothy attended high school in Indianapolis, IN while working at Mr. Dan’s Hamburgers. After a tragic event with his little brother, Tyrone K, Blanchard, Tim enlisted in the military where he resiliently completed his high school education and received a diploma from Frankfurt American High School in West Germany. He served in the Army and the Army National Guard. He received an honorable discharge. Tim began working as a steelworker at the Bethlehem Steel Plant in Steelton, PA.

After completing the military, he became the owner and operator of many residential homes and garages as well. He went on to further his education at Central Penn College in Enola, PA and attended Harrisburg Area Community College, where he received a professional certificate in HVAC. He eventually retired as a steelworker and continued his real estate and car business.

He was called “Tim” by His family and friends, but to his siblings and some business associates he was also known as “Noel Pointer”. To His grandkids he was affectionately known as “Daddy Tim and Poppop”.

He was a fan of the San Francisco 49ers. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and working on cars that he would repair and re-sell, and maybe even keep for himself. He was a collector of many things. He loved antique cars and had a special bond with his black Mustang. He enjoyed eating; he had various favorite spots he’d like to get food. And he especially love to get food with his daughters and grandchildren. He was involved and a friend in his community, always willing to help and make sure others were good. He was a neighborhood dad. He attended and served as a Sexton at Capital Presbyterian Church for many years.

Tim transitioned from this life and his death was proclaimed on August 1, 2025. He leaves to celebrate his life, his daughters, Shamarr and Nikita Blanchard; three grandchildren, Armani Houston (granddaughter) Cameron Williams (grandson) and Prince Bethea (grandson). Timothy was one of seven children, Eartha Camon-Brackens, Shelia Blanchard Powell, Wanda Garmon and Freda Lassalle; all living sisters. He was preceded in death by siblings, Tyrone Blanchard (brother) and Linda Murphy (sister). He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

His life will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2025 in the Sanctuary of Capital Presbyterian Church, 1401 Cumberland Street, Harrisburg with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. and burial in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

Wow I saw the picture and had to look twice. Tim was a good dude I lived around the corner from him for over 20 years. We never knew how to fix a bike but the kids soon figured out Mr. Tim did he was a great life saver for the single mothers in the area. Because my kids could not keep a secret. We cold tell someday if he worked on cars or ran a bike repair shop.
