Mr. Nicholas Cantrel Slaton was born on July 9, 1971, to the late Mrs. Elizabeth and Mr. Thomas Henry Slaton. He received his education in the Meriwether County Public School System, graduating with the class of ‘89. After graduating, he joined the United States Army. He joined Shiloh Baptist Church at an early age. He was a supervisor for Norman Pascal for many years. He had a passion for many things, such as softball, horse riding, drag racing, cooking, and coaching basketball to the next level, leading the girls’ team to championships year after year. If anyone knew Nick, when the need arose, he was always there cooking, without any hesitation. On April 3, 2021, God called him home. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mrs. Elizabeth and Mr. Thomas Henry Slaton, as well as his mother-in- law, Mae Jane Prather, and father-in-law, William (Jessie Mae) Prather. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Angela Slaton; three children, Kelsey Elizabeth Slaton, Nuriyah Cantrel Slaton, and Terreon Alexander; four grandchildren, Demetrius Simon, JaKiya Alexander, TaCarus Alexander, and Josiah Alexander; one sister, Rosita (Eddie) Pope; two sisters-in-law, Latisha (LaMarcus) Echols and Kizzy Prather; four brothers-in-law, Neal Anthony, Lucus Prather, Undrea Prather, and William (Erikiel) Prather; a devoted aunt, Ida (Sylvester) Barber; a devoted uncle, Willie Lee Slaton; and a host of other aunts and uncles, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends who will miss him dearly.
