Robert McGill, Jr. was born August 16, 1946, in Gay Georgia to Robert McGill, Sr., and Francis Flemister. He passed away peacefully on January 24, 2022.
Robert moved to Woodbury as a young adult where he met and married Mable Odums in March 1968. He was a hard-working man, working as a custodian, and bus driver for Meriwether County School System, and retiring from Mead Westvacco in 2004 and Meriwether County Public Works in 2021.
Robert was well known in Meriwether County and everyone who knew him loved and respected him through several generations whether it was through working with him or through the school system.
In 2021 he joined New Friendship Baptist Church in Greenville, GA under Pastor Roosevelt Render.
Robert is preceded in death by his beloved wife Mable McGill, son Timmy McGill, grandson Stevie Jackson, Jr. and his only brother, Hubert McGill.
Robert leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Tangelia Jackson, Tarsha Pace and Tywanda McGill, one son Terrence McGill, a daughter-in-law Elaine McGill, nine grandchildren Jafiel Prather, DβAundray Van Slyke, Tevin Jackson, Tyler McGill, Robert McGill, Shun Quiller, Shermia Stanley, Quaterra McGill, Tequarrian McGill, two great granddaughters, TaMya Prather, Khaliah Prather, and two great grandsons Sincere Prather and Khyson Quiller.
Also cherishing his memory and their time together is his special friend Glenda Tucker, as well as his family, friends, coworkers, and in-laws who will miss him dearly.

Thinking about my other dad, who my granddaughters called "Boo daddy" because they couldn't say big daddy as toddlers. Missing his wisdom and advice as well and his love. Keep resting "Boo daddy", until we meet again. Elaine Palmer-McGill - daughter in law.
