Gilbert Lee Ousley, Sr., of Blytheville was born February 14, 1962 in Osceola, Arkansas the son of Bennie and Ida Ford Ousley. He was a 1980 graduate of Blytheville High School and was a member of West End Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Andrew Mitchell. Gilbert was soft spoken, kindhearted person, willing to help anyone at any time.
Gilbert transitioned on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas at the age of 62. He was preceded in death by his father Bennie Ousley, Sr., two brothers, Eddie Ford, Robert Ousley and his sister, Lavandas Ousley.
Gilbert leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Mrs. Ida Ford Ousley of the home, one son, Gilbert Lee (Sylvia) Ousley, Jr., of Jonesboro, Arkansas; two brothers Sylvester Ousley of the home, and Bennie Ousley, Jr. of Blytheville, Arkansas; four sisters, Barbara (Sylvester) Stinton of Goose Creek, South Carolina, Alberta Ousley of the home, Diann Jones, and Patricia Ousley all of Blytheville, Arkansas; 3 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of McDonald-Horne Funeral Home, 1207 South Division Street, Blytheville, Arkansas.
Interment will follow in Sandy Ridge Cemetery.
