Julian Fitzgerald Mosley, affectionately known as “Perch” to his family and friends, was originally from Blytheville and later resided in Morgantown, West Virginia. Born on June 6, 1973, in Osceola, Arkansas, he was the son of Rudy and Virginia Soward Mosley. Julian graduated from Blytheville High School as part of the class of 1991. He dedicated his life to Christ as a young man and united in fellowship with First Missionary Baptist Church in Blytheville. “Perch” enjoyed preparing meals and grilling for his loved ones, which eventually earned him a position at the Kroger deli in Morgantown. He also had a passion for sports, with the Florida Gators being his favorite college team.
Preceded in death by his father, Rudy Mosley, his paternal grandparents, Clay and Jerotha Palmore Mosley, maternal grandparents, Rosa Lee Johnson and J P Jones, a sister, Shelethia Ford, a nephew, DeMarcus Mosley, and a grandson, Anthony Mosley-Lewis. Julian transitioned on April 12, 2026, at his home in Morgantown.
Those left to cherish precious memories are his loving mother, Mrs. Virginia Mosley of Blytheville, Arkansas; his children, Mark Mosley of Phoenix, Arizonia; Jazzmyne Mosley of West Memphis, Arkansas; Brenshea Johnson of Ripley, Tennessee; one brother and sister-in-law, Kevin L. and Bratania Soward of Dallas, Texas; three sisters, Christy Andrews of Jonesboro, Arkansas; April Mosley and Miracle Swanagan both of Blytheville, Arkansas; other siblings, Marcus (Rena) Mosley of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and DeShaia Ross of Omaha, Nebraska; three childhood friends, William Wiley, Jr., Minister Freddie Ladd and Xavier Bell, one grandson, Damarcus Gooch, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and friends.
Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 11:00 am at First Missionary Baptist Church, 600 East McHaney Dr. Blytheville, Arkansas. Pastor Odale Jones will deliver the eulogy.
