Robert Earl Brooks was born December 22, 1947, the son of Manerva Brooks in Belzoni, Mississippi. Robert graduated from Mildred Jackson High School in Hughes, Arkansas, class of 1966, and earned an MBA in Business Administration from Park University. He was a decorated Veteran of the Vietnam war, retiring honorably from the United States Air Force with 20 years of service to his country. Robert also worked as a jailer for the Arkansas Department of Corrections.
He was preceded in death by his mother, his loving wife, Jacqueline Brooks, and a brother, Claude Brooks, Sr. Robert transitioned Friday, September 4, 2026, in the W.G. Hefner VA Hospital, in Salisbury, North Carolina.
Those left to cherish precious memories are his daughter, Rhonda D. Brooks of Indian Trail, North Carolina; his grandson, Xavier Brooks also of Indian Trail, North Carolina; a great daughter, Karmyn Brooks of Indian Trail, North Carolina; and a great grandson, Noah Murray of Charleston, South Carolina; three brothers, James and Candace
Brooks, Sr, of Chicago, Illinois; Earlee White of Chicago, Illinois; Monroe and Deborah White also of Chicago, Illinois; two sisters, Mary Beach of Chicago, Illinois; and Anna White-Lewis of Louisville, Kentucky; many nieces, nephews, other loving family members and friends.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 11:00
a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church, 600 East McHaney Drive, Blytheville, where Reverend Odale Jones serves as pastor. Reverend Brian Whitted, pastor of Greater Macedonia Baptist Church in Wilson, Arkansas, will offer words of comfort to the family. Military Burial Honors for Mr. Brooks will follow at Whiteside Gardens Cemetery in Osceola, Arkansas.
