Robert Earl Mays Sr. was born January 5, 1964, in Grenada, Mississippi the son of John Mays and Carrie Gates Mays. Robert was a graduate of Blytheville High School. He lived a life defined by his tireless work ethic. He was a man who led by example, earning the respect of his colleagues through nearly 30 years of dedicated service as a Plant Supervisor at Friedman Industries.
Robert passed away Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the age of 62. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Robert Mays and Carrie Mae Gates Mays, his maternal grandparents, Minnie Lee Luster Gates and Tylis Gates and his paternal grandparents, Ruby Mays and Grant Mays.
Those left to cherish precious memories are his beloved wife, Martha Mays of the home, his loving children, Robert Earl Mays Jr. and his wife Letricia Mays of Blytheville, Arkansas; Tylis Jermaine Mays and his wife DeRika Mays of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and Marcy Genise Mays of Jonesboro, Arkansas, his brothers, Anthony Gene Mays of Blytheville, and Michael Tyrone and Amber Dority of Blytheville his sisters, Ruby Dell Mays Derri and her husband Eddie of Jonesboro, Johnnie Mae Mays-Wheeler of Jonesboro, his grandchildren, Quenetta Alexis Amari, Rhya Emariya, Robert Earl III, Rajohn Eniah, Rhyes Emojae, Romus Eniah, Mar Quesha Thomas, Shoniqua Donnerson, Maya Tylise, Andreāa Elise, Justice Demaria, and Keysten Tremaine Jr. His legacy continues to grow through his four cherished great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 2:00pm until services begin at 3:00pm at Prince of Peace Church, 501 East McHaney Drive, Blytheville, Arkansas, where Minister Tim Rogers is the pastor.
Celebration of Life Services are scheduled for 3:00pm at Prince of Peace, Reverend Willie Williams will deliver the eulogy, with interment to follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
