Obituary For Mr. Steve Whitehorn

Steve Whitehorn was born on May 1, 1957, in Blytheville, Arkansas, to Kyser Whitehorn and Nevator Franklin Whitehorn. A graduate of Blytheville High School, he worked as a truck driver for Big River Steel. In his youth, Steve professed his faith in Christ and united Jeremiah Tempel Spiritual Church under the leadership of Bishop Roscoe Roberson. He was an exceptional cook who enjoyed playing cards and dominoes. A “Die Hard” Dallas Cowboys fan, Steve was a loving family man who cherished time with his children and grandchildren.

Steve departed this earthly life on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at his home. He is preceded in death by his parents, Kyser and Nevator Franklin Whitehorn, a brother Calvin Whitehorn and a sister, Constance Lawless.

He is survived by one son, Melvin Harvey of Jonesboro, Arkansas; three daughters, Stephanie Merriweather of Blytheville, Arkansas; April Tramble of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and Keoshia Whitehorn of also of Blytheville, Arkansas; one sister, Brenda (Thomas) Grey of Blytheville, Arkansas; fifteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Prince of Peace Spiritual Church, 501 East McHaney Street, Blytheville, Arkansas where Tim Rogers is the pastor.

Celebration of Life Services are scheduled for 11:00am at the church. Pastor Tim Rogers will deliver the eulogy with interment to follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
