Obituary For Mrs. Ida Mae Harris

Mrs. Ida Mae Harris, 101, of Blytheville, Arkansas was born December 18, 1924, in Osceola, Arkansas, the daughter of Bessie Thompson. She was a member of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, having the distinction of being the oldest member of the church, she also served the church as an usher, a sister in the mission society, and a member of the hospitality committee. Mrs. Ida enjoyed spending her days on the fish bank, and cooking, but most particularly she was known for the beautiful, handcrafted quilts that she created. She was a kind, loving and giving lady, who said what she meant and meant what she said. During her career, she worked as a medical assistant to Dr. Brewer for many years.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Bessie Thompson Hall, her daughter, Mae Louise Davis, her husband, Brodie Harris, brothers, George Hall, Estell Hall, sisters, Viola Harris, and Shirley Aldridge.

She is survived by two brothers, Albert (Ethel) Hall of Allentown, PA; and Willie (Clara) Hall of Blytheville, AR; two special nephews, Ronnie (Pearlie Smith) Aldridge of Blytheville, AR; and Collins Hall of Allentown, PA; a special niece, Mae King of Blytheville, AR; two special God-daughters, Gloria Williams, and Dr. Anes Abraham; her Pilgrim Rest Missionary Church Family, many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2026, 1:00pm until 2:00 pm at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, 809 East Main Street, Blytheville, where Reverend Ricky Everett is the pastor.

Celebration of Life Services are scheduled to begin at 2:00pm at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church. Reverend J.L. Williams will deliver the eulogy with interment to follow in Gethsemane Gardens Cemetery.
